Before creating and sending a survey to the human resource professionals, first interview/consult with Dr. Robert Ployhart -- staffing, personnel selection, recruiting, human resources, and statistics expert for the Management program in the Darla Moore School of Business at USC. He should be able to provide tips about the best way to approach HR professionals in order to gain their participation, and he likely has some personal knowledge and experience with "personnel selection procedures" in SC corporations, since that is one of his main research interests.

Also, interview Dr. Richard Nagle, professor emeritus in the Psychology department at USC, who previously conducted a study for the SC Workforce Investment Board about employers' perspectives on worker skills as it relates to hiring, retention, and training.
